Is Your Pet Having Surgery?

At Blue Valley Animal Hospital, your pet's safety is our first priority.  We take all precautionary measures during each and every procedure.  While a pet is under anesthesia, he or she will be connected to animal-specific monitoring equipment so that his or her vital signs can be recorded.  A technician will monitor your pet every two minutes for the first ten minutes of surgery and then every five minutes after that.   Pain medication & fluids are administered during each procedure, and a catheter is always placed.  Patients are monitored after surgery until they are awake, alert, and able to walk around.  Please do not hesitate to call either office to discuss any concerns you may have about your pet's procedure- and feel free to request a copy of your pet's anesthetic profile sheet.  If you are deciding on a procedure for your pet, we are always happy to build you an estimate.

Why Choose Laser?

We offer laser surgery for spays & neuters, mass removals, and other surgical procedures- & always strongly recommend opting for laser over scalpel whenever possible.  Using a laser at the incision provides for a virtually bloodless procedure, speeding patient's recovery time tremendously, and cutting down on pain during the healing process.  There is an added charge if you choose to have a laser procedure.
